The more I watch soccer the more I am convinced that many, if not most, games are fixed.  Too often it happens that the “favorite” is pulled out at the last minute by a foul that the Ref just does not call or they let the game continue even after regulation and extra time has elapsed.

You're right but not just about few matches:  The next world cup will be held in Russia, then in 2022, in Qatar… Qatar where players might have to play during the night … because of climate details during summer!http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/13601803http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2415974/FIFA-President-Sepp-Blatter-admits-Qatar-2022-World-Cup-mistake.html

Give me a game where a lot of money is involved, which can't be suspicious?Meanwhile it's not game over yet for USA, let's see how the next match will be bribed… (Portugal are relying on a Germany win and must also achieve a six-goal swing if they are to pip the USA to second place and reach the last 16)BTW, nobody noticed the stunning and overwhelming victory against Russia. They are unstoppable  8)

The Invincible Armada has sunk already. What are your expectations for the “Manifest Destiny” team after their first victory? The “outsiders”, that I support, did it well; even if their first half-time was quite a nightmare …

Now that is a surprise since it raged for almost six months less than two hours drive from where you live.  Though I guess it makes sense that the Bulge tends to overshadow everything else because it is more famous.  The Huertgen Forest looks like some of the WWI battlefields I have been on because it is so cratered and covered with trenches and fieldworks.

Less than 1 hour from home to Monschau (64 Km, 59 min … according to google) !I've been many times in Monschau and in the Eifel Hohes Venn but as you say, the Bulge is overshadowing almost everything.Except if you stay in the area for a while (I know more about battles around Sankt Vith, Poteau, Amel, etc) some events may stay totally unaware from you (even for natives). At least, I've learned something today!  8)

According to what I can read; it's a stele for a German officer who was killed in November 1944, while saving a wounded Gi in the middle of a minefield and appealling for medical help. Not clear but it's written Huerigen Forest. Probably somewhere between Belgium and Germany, I'd say near Aachen

What is surprising is that Iraq resisted during the Iran-Iraq war (or atleast get a stalemate) but not anymore today.I wonder why

Well I guess that Obama and all the government knew about Bergdahl's status: he is AWOL.My question is: what is this deal really about? Of course they know that USA don't deal with terrorists. But why did they do it this time? Why these 5 men? What's the hidden agenda behind al this?

I'm currently watching a BBC documentary that I recorded a few days ago: Rome's Lost Empire.I'm quite dazzled about how new technologies are used today to track all these ancient remains; they call it “spatial archaeology”, and the main archaeologist in this documentary is from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Worth watching!http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01pc063 (4 days left today)http://www.sarahparcak.com/index2.php#/home/

Built in what seems to be Manueline revival style: Gothic, Renaissance and Plateresque styles altogether!
