The next step to this question becomes does it matter if King Arthur were ever true? It's fun to believe so, plus it sure generates a lot of cash for certain places in England i.e. Tintagle Castle and other places claiming to be Camelot.Next post: Paul Bunyon, fact or fiction?
Ok, I guess I'm thinking that TRUE historical fiction is that which does more than tell a story set in a certain time period. I'm thinking about those that use fictional characters and plot to actively interact with known historical fact, even to the point of explaining why or how something may have happened. This does not mean counter-history such as a few of Turtledove's works and the like.I guess my point is, I would like to try my hand at this genre but do not know to what extent I should take the historical interaction. Thanks
Hmmm, for us it might not be that extraordinary. Now if some new kid to the group say in his early 20s was to post that, the Bravo. I say share that wealth of knowledge, I'm sure there is a group of folks that need some tutalidge.
What scares me is that some people out there don't like either candidate and will NOT be voting. We have Congressional and House seats that also need to be voted on and thats were we can really be up the creek. So lets hope that we can get a strong house and congress to possibly offset anything should Obama actually win.
What about the opening battle in Gladiator between the Romans and the Germanic tribes? I read that they found the location was going to be cleared of timber and were allowed to use the fire.
