I agree with nkuler that we won't see a return to the Golden Age of Islam. We might see something closer to what scout mentioned though. I can see Arab unity working to create a Pan Arab Union in a similar model to the European Union. Iran won't be a part of it unless they can dominate it like Germany does Europe. But if the Mullahs and Ahmedinajad are overthrown by Iran's dissidents they can be included as well. Interesting times we live in.
I have the Nichomachian Ethics and never really got a chance to read it. I glanced through it and it is not light reading I can tell you. You might also get Aristotle and Xenophon on the Athenian Constitution. Also, check out Plotinus the Enneads.
I must have missed this topic for some reason. Did the original poster get his or her question answered? It's a good question really.George Whitefield actually crossed the racial barriers in South Carolina, but his efforts were probably too early because the Stono Slave Rebellion was still very vivid in the minds of the Gentry so allowing slaves to organize in worship services scared the bejeezus out of them.
Well spooks should know that if they are outed in the field, they are going to be thrown under the bus. It's part of the risks associated with the job. Pakistan will use the guy to get some concessions (if they are smart), and will eventually release him back to us.
We would probably classify Pakistan with Iran and North Korea if we did not need them for land access to Afghanistan. Our relationship with them is the ultimate example of RealPolitik trumping principle.
I can do all the modding in phpbb and I believe I dabbled with PunBB once before as well as Fudforum, but SMF is by far the best solution. I do like MyBB as well. The best thing about them is they are free. 🙂
No SMF is still right up there, but there have been complaints about its scalability (becoming a large high traffic board)….which is bunk. The same knock on MyBB is out there too, but I've been on several MyBB sites that are quite active and they do fine. SMF is still the easiest to customize and upgrade, but MyBB is very user friendly too. MyBB is newer and has a smaller development community, but it is growing and is active. SMF has had some internal strife among its developers (which is not unexpected with such a large project). I read about this on an SMF community site though I can't remember which one.
I really do like smf 2.0, but I'm hearing that their development is slowing down and many folks are switching to MyBB (hence my decision to try it for GAA). There was some talk that SMF might dissolve or something, but it didn't. Still something isn't the same with them.

Well, I'm not a computer whiz and so no, I can't be absolutely sure about much of anything computer related. But what I can tell you is that my web host fixed something on their end, not on my end. There weren't any files under my domain that were causing it. The fact that it hit more than one of my sites also tells me that it was done back end (I'm guessing it probably affected other computers hosted on that same server as well). On my GA site, I have html files (i.e. no php), so if they did inject it somehow via a php interface, how would it have infected that site?
It wouldn't.However, javascript can be injected into html like php can so it is still possible though unlikely.

Are you absolutely sure the hackers didn't inject some code through any php interface your sites might have? Like an upload box or text area for submissions? It is possible.
Well seeing how they ruled for some 2000 years, they must have had some climate change. I am deeply impressed about the longevity of the Egyptians, and I don't know that we give them enough credit for this. Granted, there were breaks in it (e.g. when the Hyksos invaded c. 1600 B.C.) but it was still largely continuous.
Could also be indicative of little to no relevant climate change too. Might explain why their civilization wasn't stressed by outside forces.
