My son gave me the movie for Father's Day. I love the old planes. I enjoyed the movie but Hollywood had to do it's thing as usual. I was suprised the see the Black pilot but understand he was really a member of the Layfayette Escadrille until the US got involved and sent him to the trenches.
One benefit of legalization would be a standardized degree of drug purity rather than the adulterated mixtures on the illegal market. With standardization and taxation it might work. The tax revenues could go for drug education and addiction prevention.
Are we talking about a “one-holer” or a “two-holer”?When privy's were in common se in the South the most common site for a Black Widow bite was the buttocks. The spiders liked the dark areas under the seats. I had a high school friend who suffed this indignity :-[ :-[ :-[
One fine day in the middle of the nighttwo dead boys stood up to fightback to back they faced each otherdrew their swords and shot each otherA deaf policeman heard the noise came and arrested the two dead boysfrom the late 1800's
I saw a History Channel program several years ago that pointed toward Stanton as the mastermind. He planned to eliminate everyone above him and be president. The other assassinations failed with only Booth being successful.
If I am not mistaken, Fort Pulaski was designed by engineers of the US Army of whom Robert E. Lee was in charge. The reduction of Fort Pulaski proved the end of masonary fortifications due to the improvements in artillery.
The soldiers on both sides were remarkably similar. Northern farm boys and Southern farm boys killing each other. At Fredericksburg the Union Irish Brigade fought the CSA Irish. An interesting story is that of the three childhood friends who grew up in Gettysburg, Jack, Mary(Jennie) and Wesley. Wesley moved to Va and later was in CSA army. Jack Skelly fought for the Union.. Jack was badly wounded at Winchester and Wesley saw him in hospital shortly before Jack's death. Jack asked Wesley to take a message to Jennie, his fiancee. Wesley got to Gettysburg but never delivered the message. Wesley Culp was killed on Culp's Hill , his uncle's farm. Jennie Wade was the only civilian casualty being killed by a stray bullet thru her kitchen door.http://users.snip.net/~hart/page22.htmlI was told this tale in a class and later found it on the net
I have been fortunate enough to go twice. I had done extensive reading on the battle before I went. The last trip we took a tour with a Crow Indian guide. I never realized until then that the average Crow was 6 feet tall. The first trip I was sitting listening to some young Ranger give a lecture on the weapons used. He was discussing the 45-70 Carbine used by the cavalry. He pointed to the huge marble monument and stated that one shot from a 45-70 could topple it. YEAH, RIGHT and my .177 pellet gun is a good choice for elephants too. That monument is about ten feet tall. I have several 45-70s and 50-70s none of which would do more that spatter on that marble.
