Millenialists predicting the Second Coming or Rapture have been around since at least the 1st Century. People are always predicting the imminent return of Christ. One of these days someone will be right and in the meantime there will always be a willing audience that wants and yearns for the end-times to be right around the corner,

My purpose isn't to be sarcastic nor taunt any believer but what I don't really accept is that when you remember about the roots of protestantism (Luther's grievances) one of these was about the Bible to be translated in a vernacular language and not in latin so anyone, poor or rich, peasant or lord, can read it without interpretation or guidance from a priest or any initiate. A kind of “back to the roots” movement. Therefore I don't understand why people should listen to a pastor who “twice” predicted such a fundamental event according to his own interpretation. His rapture-day might concern the livings, not the deads; so why to suddenly worry when the deadline (love that word) is announced ? While I generally frown upon modernist "armchair judges" of history, I think it is crucial for any society to evaluate the morality of significant decisions made by political leaders. In particular, issues of life and death need to be considered with great care, lest we as a nation or society begin to violate the very principles which we are supposed to be guarding.
I agree but don't you think it's also a matter of survival ? If you're attacked, won't you fight back? No matter you respect or not your laws if your attackers spit on it

What was shocking was the treatment of returning viet nam vets bythe general citizenry, all who participated in dierespect to those brave men should forever hang their head in shame.
But, unfortunately, they are not. Instead they are all teaching their Marxist drivel at universities throughout the US and Europe.
