I voted for Da Vinci as he invented many handy things, as well as having the idea for many more. He never made one fundimental invention that changed the world, but a lot which made life just a wee bit easier, such as a device to rotate a bit of meat over a fire, so it no longer had to be done by hand. Other inventor are also important, such as whoever invented gunpowder or first person who managed to make fire.
It went far to far, Germany was never really beaten after WW1, no Allied soldiers ever set foot in Germany. the Treaty of Versailles just caused resentment and povrty in Germany. The reperations were extortionate, if they had kept paying them then they would only have finished in the 1980's. The Was Guilt Clause was however, in my opinion, the most unnessary part of the treaty.
Caesar or Alexander. They both managed to conquor vast new territories for their nations. Caesars conquests helped to secure Roman power for hundereds of years while Alexander formed the largest empire there had ever been in only a few years.
I would have to say the aeroplane as it alowed long range bombings into areas neverbefore under threat and gunpowder as it started the use and development of cannons an guns.
