Isn't it that areas which are nationally cosmopolitan and presumably rich in resources (or geographically favorable) are ripe for squabbles? I think of Israel as another such example.
I think you guys missed the big one, from Acts 2:44-47 (DR version):
And all they that believed, were together, and had all things common. 45Their possessions and goods they sold, and divided them to all, according as every one had need. 46And continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they took their meat with gladness and simplicity of heart; 47Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord increased daily together such as should be saved.
http://biblehub.com/drb/acts/2.htmOf course, I don't think this passage was meant in the same way that Marx was presenting his message. Likewise, I would not consider Thomas More's Utopia to be "communist".
I wonder. It could potentially be construed as “found items” or could be considered part of their property which appreciated overnight. Chances are the government will get its hands on 40% or more.
Your observation would be correct. I think when I put the present theme on it was going to be temporary, and I never came up with a logo to match. I came to like the theme, however. 🙂
Ok, you are right – sorry about that. It did briefly seem odd to me since she was an adult during her captivity (which would make it strange for her to outlive all the children in the camps) but I didn't contemplate it enough.
I know we've talked about this topic before, but there's something that I still don't get. If certain actions were legal under the laws of a nation at one point in time, upon what grounds are they now illegal? I fully understand that legality does not equate to morality, but I don't think that is the prevailing view in the West. Have German politicians officially adopted the view that the moral law is higher than human-made law? I would like to know what the European view is on when people should stop following the law of the land and follow their own moral consciences. Also, was there not some resolution that came out of Nuremburg that gave legal pardon to low-level Nazi figures?
I think it can be an honest approach to debating someone, and it doesn't have to be a so-called “trick up one's sleeve” to overcome the other. For example, I think it can be used when teaching (students or children) how to think through issues, BUT it's a good idea to know how to guide them from point A to point B.
Strange, but I am not really bothered by the fact that the U.S. is lagging behind in Olympic medals this time around. The may reflect my attitude toward my country, sorry to say. Or, maybe it's not my attitude toward my country, but to my fellow citizens who have chosen a path by their voting and preferences that is bringing the country down the path of destruction (morally, economically, and perhaps even militarily).
So tell me – would you say the income you're generating worth the time/effort you put into writing it? I see it's around 250 pages, so it must have taken a while to put all the information together. Also, did you plan on self-publishing at Amazon from the beginning, or did you start writing and then decide later on to self-publish?
I've used my iPad to read ebooks, and it works fine. It did take some experimentation with different ereader software before I found one I really liked. Still, however, I think I prefer reading physical books to electronic books.
