If it is confirmed that it can be transmitted through the air it will be full on Outbreak style panic.  I have already heard rumblings about that in the prepper world.  There are plenty of folks tossing around I told you sos right now.  I think it is way too early to panic yet.

I had an offer on my simplesurvival site of $2000, but that was from the guy that owns simplesurvival.com and several other top level domains for simplesurvival.  I turned him down.

I still say the biggest worry is a mutation that sends it airborne.  THe Black Death did not spread fast until the majority of cases were the pneumonic kind.  Fluid transmission is just too iffy for a true catastrophic pandemic.  We really could isolate ourselves and avoid a fluid transmitted disease.

Ebola, just like that Black Dath, will spread along transport lines.  The difference is that now that is Air Travel instead of caravan and sea lanes.

I don't know how much faith I would put in those valuations.  The same site says: B&BR is worth 2.9KValue Site says B&BR is worth $8.95Freewebsitereport says B&BR is worth $220Smart Viper says B&BR is worth $8,292Those valuations are garbage and the name is actually only worth what someone is willing to pay to get it.

The saving grace right now is that it is relatively difficult to transmit the disease.  If the virus mutates and goes airborne all bets are off.  In that case expect a repeat of the black death.

There actually are a few groups of Muslims who condemn the Islamists but they are few and far between.  You even actually hear about them on the news every once in a while.  Just recently there was a piece on the German news about how the Imam of the largest mosque in Manchester is kicking Islamists and Salafists out of his mosque and refusing to allow them to come to Friday prayers.  The main point of the story was about how he has received death threats and is under police protection though.

That may be true for westerners but probably not for people of less developed parts of the world.  I would guess if that was your concern then the researchers should have went to some African village and had the people there eat the shrews, which is probably not much different than their regular diet.I have heard that theory about the appendix too.  That it is the remnant of our previous ruminant chamber.

OUr dog is now 10 and weighs right at 50 pounds.  She is getting a little grey around the muzzle and sedentary but still very healthy and will even chase the ball around although she tires faster now.  She is also not a purebred.

… since our contemporary digestive systems probably don't work quite as intensely as the ones of yesteryear.

What would make you think that?

Now that is an interesting find.  I know I am generally down on archaeology but I find experimental archaeology quite fascinating. That is one of the main reasons I am bound and determined to put together a short trip next year to see Guédelon Castle in Burgundy.

I think it iwll be interesting to see how many secession movements spring up (if any) in the wake of the Scotland vote.  Lord knows there are ethnic divisions enough among Europeans.  There is even a lively movement in Germany to separate Franconia from Bavaria and have it be it's own Bundesland.
