Balanced the state's budget for one. What happened or what was done to his policies AFTER he left office is not his responsibility because he had no effective control or influence after leaving office. From what I have learned and read about his tenure at Bain he was an extremely able and competent business leader. Did he make some people unhappy yes, but did he do his job and fulfill his responsibilities as CEO, you bet. He also did an outstanding job heading up the Salt Lake Olympic Committee.Sorry Donnie, but your stated inability to see beyond his religion makes any opinion of yours about the man suspect doesn't it? Further, how is your dismissal of him because of his faith any different than what the Jihadists do? It seems to me that while Mormonism is not mainstream, it is far from a cult. You can freely disagree with or even loath the man because of his beliefs but it is a bit of a stretch to then expect that any comments you make about him will be taken at their face value.
Shouldn't we vote based on perceived competence instead of likability? I am sure that Obama is personable likable, that does not mean I think he is or will be a good president. Romney also appears likable enough but what I like about him is his perceived competence. He is not my candidate of choice for Republican nominee but based on his record in and out of office Obama is not even playing the same sport with him when it comes to leadership competence.
Why would you expect Obama to have any clue about the military or what it can and cannot do, he spent his entire life wrapped in the arms of modern liberalism. The are now is a pretty big sports complex, the 1 FC Nuernberg soccer stadium is there and so is the Ice Hockey Arena for the Nuernberg IceTigers. The football field is now where the back rows of people are standing in your picture Phid.I thought it was ttally ironic that there is now a football field inside the old parade field.
Well, it is a German American Football club. Why would they have their site in English if it for Germans who want to know about a German club.

I would add to you views on Taxation Phid but you have echoed my sentiments almost exactly. I always ask people that talk about the need to raise taxes what benefit the receive from their present level of taxation. I am told about roads, police, fire protection, consumer advocacy, and defense; but never is welfare or state entitlements mentioned. When I then ask them if the state paying the mob to be quiet through these programs is also desirable they generally lose it. These people need help they say and it is only right that we help them. I then ask how indefinite payments help them instead of just making them dependent? I have yet to hear a good answer to that. If I really want to set them off I give them the old line about giving someone a fish versus teaching him to fish.Te problem is not that the left or tax advocates don't have humanity, it is that what humanity they have is so colored by condescension for everybody else in society that they cannot conceive of doing things any differently. The discussion of taxation is not about fairness, it is about taking what others have. Further, such taking is not to help anybody but simply because the left has decided that being rich is bad and they have figured out that they can use government to enforce their desires The left does not see government as a way to enforce rules applicable to everybody, they see government as a bludgeon to enforce their worldview. The modern left is using the methods of democracy to enforce a true dictatorship of the proletariat and denying it every step of the way.If you really think about it the modern Left/Liberals are a greater threat to Western society and the world as a whole than communism ever was. The left would rather see civilization collapse then concede that they may be wrong in their thinking and ideology or that it might require adjustment.
No it's a bad idea if it's not across the board for all income brackets. Selective tax cutting is a Democratic strategy not a Republican one.
Why, he thinks the current tax rate for the rich is appropriate. What I would really like to see is if everyone had to pay some taxes.
Debate thoughts:1. Obama deployed the evil rich guy argument early and falsely2. Has Obama opened up new areas for energy exploitation? Not that I am aware of.3. No interest, dividends, or capital gains taxes on people earning less than $200,000 (that is the best idea I have heard out of Romney yet.4. Obama seemed desperate in the way he was interrupting Romney when Romney made excellent and telling points.5. The moderator was in the bag for Obama.6. Obama completely misinterprets the 2nd Amendment but that is about what I expected from him.7. I love the fact that Romney is not afraid to be proud of his faith. 8. I think Romney will win Ohio and handily at that. I still say a Reagan landslide is coming because people are not being honest with pollsters.
I had to watch it later on YouTube. Way cool though. There are even military applications for such capabilities, which is what I like about the idea
Interesting piece, but it lacks any type of detail whatsoever.We called the first 60 minutes after a guy was wounded "the golden hour" and it is the time that makes the difference between life and death fro a severely wounded soldier. A friend of mine was severely wounded twice and both times he was at the hospital within 30 minutes of being wounded. That made the difference for him. The second time he lost a leg and died four times on the table but they were able to bring him back because h was at a fully equipped hospital in Balad.
