I am particularly impressed by the values you both incarnate regarding our wager: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal courage.I respectfully salute your sacrifice : hats off, Messieurs! A votre santé! ::)
You do realize of course that Army Values, which you quote, combine for a bastardized version of leadership right?
Is that a nudge-nudge-wink-wink reference to Game of Thrones?
Yes, yes it is. While I think Game of Thrones is a great show and have read all the books, I also think they overdo the nudity, sex, and violence. If it serves the story that is fine but much of the nudity seems gratuitous to me. There ain't even that much nudity in the books and there is hardly any sex in the books.
My picture will be posted shortly. Phid is right. It is not much trouble to lose a wager like this because the price of losing is almost a reward in itself.
I just got done watching first season, it is a great show. I really like that it tells a good story without naked people prancing around all the time or being super explicit with the violence.
Agree with Donnie on this one. The Civil War was a forlorn hope from almost the beginning. If the South did not land a knockout blow the first year it was just a matter of time. The South's only hope was always to bring the North to the table and negotiate a peace and that was not going to happen with Lincoln in the White House.
I don't know. I could not watch the game because I was at work. Most of the Germans I talk to hoped for a tie, which would guarantee both would advance. I wanted the US to win just for the bragging rights. I guess that is out of the window now though.
The more I watch soccer the more I am convinced that many, if not most, games are fixed. Too often it happens that the “favorite” is pulled out at the last minute by a foul that the Ref just does not call or they let the game continue even after regulation and extra time has elapsed.
