WWI, WWII? Also nations during colonization and decolonization. They were at war with their colonies and/or against each other, all to protect their free market assets. I'm not being anti-capitalist here, it's just the way it is.
Another thing about what Smith believed was that as universal opulence increased through the free market, countries would be more prone to peace since they would have a greater stake in protecting their property.
I agree with you, but I stil think the Repubs shouldn't go that route. They are just ALWAYS on the defensive. The Left started all this class warfare garbage with the media hammering it home, and as usual the Right falls into to trap of having to use the same vocabulary. Republicans should completely ignore any class references because by addressing it, they are legitimizing what the Democrats are saying instead of correcting the falsehoods.
