Hey, I'm saying the same thing about you, Phid, with Othello. And look at this stumpfoot!! I can't even come close. The secret about the shell game is you just have to get into the zone.
I think that's just reality of war. Of course it's worse. I can't even imagine what it must be like to be in the humvee behind the one that blew up, and I'd rather not see that stuff anyway. (like the terrorist snipers CNN aired)I agree with Don too, the media knows what they're doing. How can they not? The question I ask is, why? 😡
That and we saw a clearly defined enemy and could measure his advancement by seeing wherever his armies went. Our enemies today are not as clearly defined and we cannot exactly see where they are entrenched or where they are advancing to.
That's true. But what about progress that can be clearly seen, but is not reported or just completely ignored? The media, being against recent wars by either ignoring good news or harping on the bad, surely wasn't like this during WW2. That most certainly affects the American spirit and resolve.
Terrorism's power comes from fear. MIlitary power comes from respect. I don't know if this answers the question but here's an example of what's happening now.The Afghani people are more scared of the terrorists than they trust the US Army. We (the US), using psychological tactics, are trying to change that. We say to the Afghani citizens "We are here to help, so help us find the enemy". "We will protect you. We will build schools and a public service infrastructure for you." They don't help us, because if they do, and are found out, their whole family's lives are in grave danger. (fear)That, I believe, is the difference. Also, one should look at human rights violations. Who treats humans (their own) better?
In the Battle of Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands, on October 26, 1942, while a platoon sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, he held his line against advancing Japanese forces even after all of his comrades had been killed or wounded. After reinforcements arrived, Paige led a counterattack against the Japanese, which successfully repelled the enemy forces and held the American line. For this action, General Alexander Vandegrift presented Paige with the Medal of Honor in a special ceremony in Balcombe, Australia, on May 21, 1943.
I think this one was The Librarian 2. I saw the first movie, but missed this one. It was ok, but Noah Wyle is no Harrison Ford. It was a series? I need to pay attention more. 😛
