Great links!  Thanks.  I kind of wanted to make it just a day trip if possible, but didn't realize it was so far. Probably be better off flying to Amsterdam.

Thanks Aetheling.  Looks like they are right in London, so that would be doable.  I believe the Cutty Sark is at or nearby one of them as well. I could probably find out, but are there ferries to Holland from England?

You've never seen it before?  It's a very good movie.  Arguably the best movie Russell Crowe has been in.  I was hoping they would make a sequel.

Just watched it last night.  Awesome movie!

I kind of thought so, but some Dutch historians still spell it Oranje when writing in English.

Just got the Israel book in the mail.  It's a little over 2 inches thick and not light!  My arms will be a bit bigger by the time I'm done.  Maybe I should read it at the beach. 😀

Beautiful pictures.  I like that UK Daily Mail. They have a lot of good articles.

After Henry died, servants sewed the body of King Henry I inside of a cow (Luke Skywalker…Tauntaun style!) to keep it from rotting on the journey to his home in England.

    Yuk!!

I don't know if this clarifies things (or makes them more confusing), but in a book I'm reading about the English Civil Wars, I just read that the Dutch, primarily the merchants of  Holland/Oranje, supplied the royalists with weapons and ammo..and lots of it.  This was perhaps the cause, or one cause, of the first Anglo-Dutch war.

It's too postmodern looking. Bet it would look cooler with like Old English fonts or something.

This thread has inspired me to sign up for a class.  Renaissance, starting in Sept. (hope the instructor lets me do a paper on the Dutch)
