Yikes. Every once in a while I'll do that, but it's not loud (and I kinda stop when Led Zeppelin hits the high notes). There's this guy who has headphones and starts dancing. He thinks he's cool…everyone else thinks he's an idiot. My newest pet peeve is cell phones. There was this kid on a machine (the only one in the gym) I wanted to use, and easily could have worked in with him. I decided to use another machine nearby while waiting. What got me angry is that he knew I was waiting for it but instead of letting me work in with him between sets he just sat there and texted away between his sets. What an ignorant jerk. I wanted to punch him. So rude and so annoying. I'm really beginning to think that cell phone usage is the downfall of civilized society. It is just so rude and ignorant. And SO MANY people, mainly the younger ones, just seem addicted to it and don't even realize how rude/antisocial/psycopathic it is. Sometimes when I'm in one of my wise guy moods, I'll stand in the way or stop right in front of them while they're walking and texting. "Oooops, sorry about that. Next time pay attention."
I don't know if I'm getting the point here, but it seems the author is saying that doing something you love means only teaching it? Why can't adjunct professors get a 2nd or 3rd job in their field of study? I'm sure there are other things one can do with their major besides teach. If you love science or engineering and want to teach, great. But if that teaching job won't pay the bills there are plenty of other job opportunities they could do (and still love).
It's not that they were faster, it's because they were the only ships that could make it in such shallow water. That's why they were able to go inland so far.
Saw this on reddit a few days ago. Took a lot of work to build!http://twistedsifter.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/snow-shark.jpgI used to like winter, and up until recently vowed never to retire in Florida. I've changed my mind. A small home/cottage in Key West goes for under 30k. (yes, I've checked) Must be getting ornery in my old age. I hate the cold, snow, and winter.
